IMPACT: TIME TO CHANGE

DIGITAL MARKETING MATTERS MORE NOW [ IMPORTANCE OF DIGITAL MARKETING ] CHANGING THE WORLD. YEAR OF DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION

As communities around the world face the extraordinary impact of COVID-19, we face the most challenging times in nearly a generation. My heart goes out to all those plagued by this deadly virus and all those who have lost dear family and friends. Every day I read inspiring stories about brave people working tirelessly in hospitals and temporary healthcare facilities across the country, and I am humbled by their personal sacrifices and unwavering dedication to saving lives. These people are the perfect definition of essential workers, and should thank them for helping us get through this crisis.
HELPING HANDS OF COMMUNITY
Similarly, our distribution has been vastly improved by countless distribution and distribution people, farmers and food service workers. They are not only keeping food on our tables, but they are also supporting and maintaining our economy so far. These courageous activists and the companies they represent are supplying Humans on the front lines with what they need to survive. At the same time, they are inadvertently demonstrating what is possible with technology and erasing any doubt that the future of business is digital. Thus, digital marketing has never been more relevant and necessary for businesses of all sizes, to ensure that they can be found online by consumers.

I have now worked in digital marketing for over a decade, and during this time I have helped countless clients overcome a variety of challenges. However, the challenges posed by this crisis are nothing according to our experience. Brick-and-mortar stores have been forced to close their doors as social isolation and self-isolation took precedence over social trade and shopping practices. This reality has accelerated e-commerce transactions, and millions of people who were previously reluctant to buy goods or services on the Internet are now dipping their toes into digital commerce. As such, the consumer landscape will likely never happen again.

People are learning that it is not always necessary to shop in physical stores. In fact, a trend of getting everything on fingertips  is emerging, and almost anything is just a click away. This interruption is making companies realize that if they are not searchable on the web, they will have a hard time surfacing the modern consumer. We are entering an era in which the importance of online traffic is more important than foot traffic for most businesses.

B2B companies are now recognizing the power of digital and revisiting their business models. As an example, I have many clients who rely heavily on Expos for business development. However, social disturbances have stopped those industry conferences and increased the importance of doing business digitally. Now sales and marketing departments will need to learn to use digital technologies to create digital brochures, automate email marketing campaigns, and connect online through virtual meetings.

DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION YEAR

Traditional sales and marketing paradigms are already constantly changing over the past decade. But these developments have undoubtedly highlighted the weaknesses of many companies, and as I mentioned recently on podcasts, brands that were slow to develop can now see how important digital transformation is. The silver lining may be that this change is a very good thing for humanity. People can now visit their doctors and pharmacists from the comfort of their homes, through a virtual visit model, for medical needs that are not life-threatening. Therapists and academic tutors are following suit by transitioning their practices to video chat platforms, rather than relying on face-to-face encounters. These digital solutions have been used by many professionals for years, but now more consumers are participating in this innovative virtual experience.

Today, we live in a society that ranks high on the priority list. Amazons of the world have already proved that most people prefer more Internet-based communication and e-commerce over more traditional methods. With the increased risk of virtual experiences brought to us by this epidemic, this demand will likely raise consumer expectations even further and accelerate adoption. Digital Transformation is here to stay.

Just as the online world has become more relevant and necessary for the functioning of our society, digital marketing has become essential for success for businesses working within that society. It is hard to believe, but until recently some companies can get away with neglecting their online presence and digital brand. For better or worse, this crisis is a wake-up call for many businesses around the world.

With millions permanently transitioning to buying products and services online, businesses must ensure that they are digitally visible and accessible. The biggest organizational risk is not losing market share; It is becoming unclear to the point of irrelevance.

We are in the midst of a major cultural disruption, and it is changing how we act in our personal and professional lives. The lessons we learn from this experience are difficult to predict. But one thing is certain: the role technology and digital marketing in commerce, communications and healthcare are proving to be an important part of our success. And businesses that oppose digital transformation should focus on its tremendous power and efficiency. Companies embracing these changes will add the most value to their customers' lives, be in the best position to grow and perhaps make the world a better place.
